Who were the Argonauts?

The Argonauts were a band of 50 sailors and heroes from Greece who set sail in the ship named Argo to find the fabulous Golden Fleece. The Golden Fleece is the skin of a golden ram, hung from a tree, and guarded by a fearsome dragon.
