Who was Neptune?

Neptune was the Roman God of the sea. When he was in a good mood, the weather was calm, but when he was in a bad mood… which was often… he would cause earthquakes, storms and shipwrecks. It was believed that he lived in palace made of coral and precious stones at the bottom of the ocean and rode in a chariot pulled by golden sea horses.
