Who is the God of the Oceans in Indian mythology?


As per Indian mythology Varuna is the God of the ocean. He is shown riding a monster fish called Makara. He keeps watch over the demons of the oceans. He sits on a throne of diamonds, and the gods and goddesses of the different rivers, lakes and springs are members of his court.
