Herbivores are animals that fed only on plants. Different animals eat various parts of trees and plants.
Plants have a substance called cellulose in their leaves and stems, which some animals, especially mammals, find difficult to digest. Herbivorous mammals have developed different methods to overcome this problem. Most have a large number of bacteria in their intestines, which help to digest cellulose. But even then, much is left over for the animal to absorb.
